Roberta became a single mother by choice at 45 after a year of fertility treatments. She had her now 13 year old son with IVF with her own egg. She now runs an online support group for single women on their journey to becoming a mom on their own.

She completed her Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/Gyn) residency at McMaster University, and finished her fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI) in the US.

Dr. Zeynep Uraz, ND is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor, and an Associate Professor at The Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine where she teaches the Integrative Fertility Curriculum, Women’s Health and Gynecology and leads the fertility-focused shift at the RSNC (CCNM’s teaching clinic).

David’s great passion in working with Xytex is bringing a protective and clinical aspect to the behavioral evaluation in our screening process of prospective donors. His goal of this talk is to educate those curious about the screening process of male sperm donors, and highlight the steps taken to ensure the quality of donor that our clients deserve – the 1% of donors who make it all the way through our screening process. David quotes “Life is full of uncertainty. Choosing a donor and wondering if they have mental issues doesn’t have to be. Life is to be treasured, and it’s my job to put your mind at ease when choosing the right donor.”

Selecting a sperm or egg donor can at times be very daunting and overwhelming. This presentation will introduce you to the gamete suppliers, tell you where to access free information on the donors and guide you through the process. He has worked in the field of Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART) as an embryologist, andrologist and researcher for over 35 years. He is currently the President of CAN-AM Cryoservices, a cryobank specializing in the importation and distribution of quality donor sperm and eggs Haimant is a member of several fertility societies including the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society (CFAS), American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM and the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE).

Dr. Irena Bergmann, ND has 20 years of clinical experience and has successfully helped many couples with their fertility journey. Her approach is very individualized and she prides herself on really listening and investigating to best understand what the patient’s needs are, resulting in healthy pregnancies and babies. She helps patients develop a plan that best suits their needs through diet, supplementation and acupuncture. Whether patients are undergoing fertility treatment, or just starting to think of conceiving, she uses all of the necessary tools to give her patients the best chances of success.

Alan is also a Clinical and Academic Adjunct Faculty Member at The Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine since 2006, and has presented at the CFAS’ Pre-Conference Nursing Symposium. Alan has co-authored a research study with Hannam Fertility Centre that has been presented as posters at the ESHRE (European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology and the CFAS conferences.
